The last century has brought us countless changes both in society and at Zion. None of those who were congregants at 202 E. Tabor Road could have guessed what was to come.
The crowds who flocked to worship at mid-century have vanished, but our church now shelters flocks of children in our Child Care Center and Day School. Changes in liturgy have put new emphasis on the congregational nature of worship.
Our pastors have brought a wealth of gifts to their ministry at Zion. The names echoing most in the memory are Frederick W. Friday, Bela Shetlock and James N. Servey. in sum, they have served our church devotedly for seventy-three of the one hundred years.
We have been bountifully blessed throughout our history, and God has allowed Zion Church to be a focus of devotion and prayer for thousands of people. In the years ahead, whatever they may bring, we will go forward in the sure confidence of His abiding presence in his Church and of His continued blessing on our worship, our witness and our work in Olney.
